We recognize paying for a high-quality education is a primary concern for students and their families. We also know that an IIT education is an investment that will pay out a lifetime of rewards.
That's why financial aid is such an important part of what we do at IIT. We work hard to bring the cost of an IIT education within reach of anyone with the talent and desire to be here. More than 97 percent of IIT students receive some form of financial assistance — from scholarships, loans, work-study, or a combination of these resources.

Wondering where to begin?
On May 7, 2008, President George W. Bush signed legislation that increased loan limits for undergraduate students. Students may now borrow an additional $2,000.00 from the unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan program for the 2008-09 academic year. If you want this additional $2,000.00, you must notify the Office of Financial Aid via email at finaid@iit.edu. Please make sure to include both your name and student ID number in your email. You do not need to contact your lender nor do you need to complete an additional master promissory note. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Financial Aid at 312.567.7219.

If you plan on applying for the Stafford, Parent PLUS or Graduate PLUS loan for the 2008-2009 academic year, you must accept these loans via myIIT or complete the appropriate loan request form before any funds will be disbursed to you. Please do this as soon as possible to avoid any late fees.
